Competition Winners

Perri Shakes-Drayton Visit

In the build up to Christmas Swale were fighting for the top spot in England Athletics fundraising competition with EasyFundraising.org.uk

Thanks to massive support from the local area, sports groups, athletes and parents Swale just edged Leicester to win the contest and get an international athlete visit us at training.

 

Perri Shakes-Drayton came to see us on Wednesday 20th January, taking part in the warm ups, giving our atheltes technical pointers, encouraging through the main session and finished by telling us about her athletics Journey followed by a Q&A with the team.

 

Perri was fantastic with our young athletes and we thank her for her time. Thanks also to everyone that helped us win this amazing experience.

Awards2015

 

Club Awards Presentation Evening 2015

Great success at our Awards Presentation Evening this year.

 

Athletes and families sold out the hall with great support from all. We had a huge 25 major trophies to award, over 80 medals, and a Raffle with over 40 prizes that included a signed photo of Jessica Ennis-Hill.

 

Major winners of the night were James Butler and Alice Engish as they scooped up the Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards. Measnwhile Bobbie Cornelius was voted in to collect the new Athletes Athlete of the Year Award.

 

James Butler has performed fantastically all year, entering County Championship events and recieving a call up to the Kent Team in the summer. He finished the year with a huge 44.97m PB in the Javelin.

 

Alice English also had a big yea, competing in the SEAA Champs in December, the Kent Schools Combined Events in Summer before finishing off with a 3095 points for Bronze in the Heptathlon at the Kent Championships.

Volunteers Wanted!

Swale Combined AC are moving to the Southern Athletics League in 2016!

 

We had a great turn out by our seniors in 2015 and want to capitalise on the seasons success and make a good impression in a new league.

 

Swale are looking for Track and Field officials to join our team.

Choose from Starter/Marksman, Timekeeper, Track Judge of Field Official.

Getting qualified requires a one day course and then its up to you how much you get involved. The club will pay your course fees!

Training Inductions

 

New members must attend an induction session. The next induction will be on Wednesday 27th January.

 

This session is free and must be attended by anyone wishing to join the club.
