Kent Sportshall Series

 

Swale boasted their largest ever team turn out for the Kent Sportshall athletics match held at the Swallow Leisure Center, Sittingbourne.

 

28 Athletes made up the team, which won 9 medals at the match.

 

Alice English won the U15 Girls competition for the second consecutive match with a score of 729points

 

William croucher made his debut in a Swale vest, and won the U13 boys vertical Jump with 50cm, ahead of Swales George Spalding in 3rd with 46cm.

 

Amelia Williams and Lori Secrett were top for the U11 teams as they finished the Ball Push in 7th place

Sportshall Team

Kent Sportshall Champs

Swale had a smaller team than previous years at the Kent Sportshall Championships last weekend but that didn't stop the team of 10 collecting 13 Championship Medals!

 

Swale's Under 11s made it to 22nd place in the team competition, their most impressive performance coming from the girls: Lori Secrett and Amelia Williams in the Ball Throw as they took 6th place.

 

Alice English was on form once more with a Standing Long Jump of 2.18m while she took the joint Kent Champion title int eh Vertical Jump with 57cm.

 

George Spalding, in his first Championship event showed his skills in the u13 boys Standing Long Jump to take the silver medal!

Awards Winners

 

Club Awards Presentation 2014

Over 80 athletes, parents and club members filled Bapchild hall at the weekend to celebrate a very successfull season.

 

Two Kent Champion trophies were presented, along with Kent Vets medals, Club Championships medals, and 22 Club Trophies and Shields.

 

Alice English took top honours with the Female Athlete of the Year Award. In 2014 Alice set new High Jump, Long Jump and 800m bests, taking her onto the UK rankings for all three. Alice was also awarded the Jumps and Combined Events Shields.

 

Andrew Scoones was awarded the Male Athlete of the Year Trophy following his impressive 7sec increase over 800m to gain his UK ranking.
