Club Championships 2018
25 Athletes from Swale travelled to Ramsgate at the start of September to enjoy a joint Club Championships with Thanet AC (Host Team), Folkestone AC and Dover Road Runners.
As track athletes struggled with strong headwinds, the field events made the headlines with the likes of Jamie Berkman throwing a new Under 13 boys Hammer throw Club Record of 17.23m; 4m on top of his previous best.
Lexie Hammon capped a great year with another 4kg Hammer PB and CR of 29.35m while also sending the 3kg implement to 31.26m, just short of a PB.
Alfie Walach made his competition debut with an impressive string on jumps to take 2nd overall in the U11 Boys event with 3.02m
Richard Scoones cleared a veterans best in the High Jump with 1.35m, his best jump in the last 10 years.

Kent League Success
Under 13 and Under 15s have been performing well all season in the Kent Young Athletes League. They sit 4th in Division 2 after 3 strong competitions.
The team have set multiple Club Records, PBs and won many events. William Jury (pictured) is currently undefeated in the hurdles this season with a best of 14.30sec.
Teni Olagbemi has recorded an U13 girls 150m Club Record with 22.6sec.
Joshua Clarke became the clubs first 10m+ Shot Putter in recent years with an U15 club record of 10.03m.

South East Schools Champions
Freya Jury featured as part of the winning Kent Under 15 girls team at the South East Schools Combined Events Championships at Ashford.
Freya had an outstanding day in the Pentathlon, recording 4 personal bests and three Club Records.
Starting off with a 12.3sec run in the 75m Hurdles (CR), Freya then landed an 8.50m PB in the Shot and 1.40m in the High Jump. Freya's big points came in the Long Jump as she closed in on 5m with 4.90m (CR).
Finally an 800m PB of 2.46.9min to take 14th in the pentathlon overall and help the team to win the event.
The girls will get a chance to compete at the English Schools Championships in September in Bedford. Well done Freya!
