14 members of Swales Senior team opened the league season for the Club at the David Wier Leisure Center. They came away with a handfull of PBs, 1st place results and Club records!
Mary Obembe was making her outdoor track debut and did so in style with a Club Record sprint double! Mary broke the 13year old 100m record with 14.3sec before a 29.8sec 200m.
Alice English closed in on her Long Jump PB with a 4.53m landing to take 1st place, while Keeley Burdge set about winning the 400m Hurdles with a PB of 86.1sec.
Markus Simmons made his return to competition with a huge triple jump PB, increasing from a previous best of 8.41m markus took 4th with 10.02m!
Swale finished 3rd in the match and are currently 12th in the league table with 4 matches to go.

Swale had 15 athletes attend the main County Championships at the Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford.
The team performed well early in the season to come away with 1 Silver medal, 5 bronze, 9 personal best and two club records!
Swales only Silver medal came from Mike Farrell in the Senior Mens Javelin with 22.05m. Meanwhile James Butler (pictured) threw just 1m shy of his best int he Under 20s Javline to take 3rd place and Bronze with 41.75m.
Bobbie Cornelius (pictured) ran in the Senior womens Hurdles taking 3rd in 21.49sec for her Bronze.
Markus Simmons improved on his recent Triple Jump best to claim his first ever championship medal with a new PB of 10.54m in the U17s event.
Alice English showed good form in breaking the Club Record for the 300m Hurdles, improving the mark by almost 3 seconds with a close 4th place finish in 51.33sec

Swale Combined AC are growing! To help us maintian a high level of coaching for our athletes we need volunteers interested in Coaching or Officiating.
Swale are looking for Track and Field officials to join our team.
Choose from Starter/Marksman, Timekeeper, Track Judge of Field Official.
Getting qualified requires a one day course and then its up to you how much you get involved. The club will pay your course fees!
Swale are looking for coaches particularly interested in Sprints coaching to join our team. You'll work with our coaches to help plan, lead and review training sessions, developing and encouraging our athletes.
Assistant Coach is a 2 day cours and again course fees can be paid for by Swale AC

New members must attend an induction session before starting. The next training Induction will be on Wednesday 22nd June.
